What's a Pod?
Pod = a "steering group"- with lots of laughter
It's a volunteer role where you get to .....
- Learn about the heritage of St Thomas
- Get out and about
- Share what you've learned with others in fun events
- Connect with and encourage others
- Celebrate St Thomas, its heritage and its people
- Make a difference
What would I be doing?
The Neighbourhood Pod's main job is to find ways of inviting St Thomas residents into a community celebration of their place. The next project for St Thomas is the Old Oak in Cowick Barton playing fields.
After that, there'll be a new street project, around and around St Thomas..... all the time collecting more nominations and votes for where to go next.
You'll do this as a team, with the support of the St Thomas Squilometre and with training provided for free.
PLUS! You'll come into a network of other Neighbourhood Pods all across East Devon where you can share ideas, resources and inspiration and attend an annual Pod Celebration in your honour!
What kind of time commitment is there?
Across the team, the total commitment would be an average of 7 hours per week. So if there's 7 of you, that's just an hour a week! (This can be flexible).
And we'll help you find the right role for you inside that team:-
-Social networking
-Poster design
-Photography
-Local history research
-Facilitating
-Door knocking
-Listening/welcoming others
Doing what you're good at.
Doing what you enjoy. In the time that you've got.
